Email Marketing & Fan Communication

My experience in email marketing has given me a deeper understanding of how direct communication can drive fan engagement, ticket sales, and long-term loyalty. Working within professional sports, I’ve supported the execution of targeted email campaigns that connect fans to the team in a more personalized and impactful way.

Using platforms like Eloqua, I assisted in building, scheduling, and deploying email campaigns tied to game promotions, ticket packages, special events, and community initiatives. I worked with cross-functional teams—including marketing, ticketing, and partnerships—to ensure messaging was aligned with organizational goals and delivered value to both fans and sponsors.

I also gained experience in audience segmentation, campaign timing, and performance tracking—analyzing open rates, click-through rates, and engagement trends to optimize future sends. This process reinforced the importance of delivering the right message to the right audience at the right time.

Through this work, I’ve learned that email marketing is one of the most powerful tools for driving action. Whether it’s encouraging fans to purchase tickets, attend an event, or stay connected with the team, I approach each campaign with a focus on clarity, creativity, and measurable results.

Game Promotions & Ticketing Campaigns

During my time with the Iowa Wild, I supported the execution of email campaigns centered around game promotions, ticket packages, and themed nights. These campaigns were designed not only to inform fans, but to create urgency and excitement around attending games.

I worked closely with marketing and ticketing teams to ensure each email clearly communicated key details—opponents, promotions, special experiences—while also maintaining a strong visual and emotional appeal. From subject lines to layout and messaging, there was a focus on creativity that captured attention and encouraged action. Every element was intentional, with the goal of turning interest into ticket purchases and increasing game attendance.

This experience reinforced the importance of clear, compelling communication in email marketing—making sure fans not only receive information, but feel motivated to engage with it.

Integrated Campaigns & Revenue-Driven Messaging

In addition to game promotions, I contributed to broader, integrated email campaigns that aligned with organizational initiatives such as partnerships, community events, and special offers. These campaigns required strong collaboration across departments—including corporate partnerships, PR, and sales—to ensure messaging was cohesive and delivered value to both fans and sponsors.

I assisted in building and deploying emails that balanced creativity with strategy—incorporating branding, storytelling, and calls-to-action that supported revenue goals. Whether promoting a sponsor activation, highlighting a community initiative, or driving engagement for a larger campaign, each email played a role in the overall marketing ecosystem.

This work emphasized how email marketing serves as a direct bridge between the organization and its audience—where thoughtful design, strategic messaging, and cross-department collaboration come together to drive measurable results.
