I’m Makena Adkins—a digital storyteller, creative strategist, and sports marketer passionate about building connections between teams and their fans.

My background spans social media management, graphic design, and photography, with hands-on experience in fast-paced professional sports environments. I’ve had the opportunity to create real-time content, develop platform-specific strategies, and bring brands to life through visuals and storytelling. Whether it’s capturing the energy of a game-winning moment, designing graphics that stop the scroll, or building out a content calendar, I focus on creating work that is both engaging and intentional.

What sets my approach apart is my understanding that great content doesn’t just look good—it drives results. Through my roles with teams like the Iowa Wild, Kansas City Mavericks, and Kansas City Current, I’ve seen firsthand how digital content connects directly to ticket sales, fan retention, and overall revenue growth. Every post, campaign, and creative decision is an opportunity to deepen fan relationships, strengthen brand loyalty, and support the business side of sports.
